Shiny Grey Star

Stories

This page displays stories that I've written about Jamaa, legends, and so forth! I hope you enjoy. ^.^
Mira's Presence
Mira watched her children from a distance. Her gentle, golden eyes swept the land that laid before her, as if she could warm the lands with her touch. She allowed herself the freedom of spreading her wings, cherishing the aromas of the blooms and the laughs of her children around her. She would never be able to speak to them again, she knew that. But she could watch over them, and she was content.

She smiled beautifully at her children who laughed below, her golden eyes crinkling into winks. Her feathers were splayed into a soft sweetness of gray that fluttered gently in the warm wind.

Oh, how Mira longed to speak to them again. To have them speak to her.

Sighing, Mira flew off of her perch, flying high above Jamaa. She smoothly glided near the trees, feeling their soft scents waft beneath her feathers. The gentle glow of sunlight illuminated her kind and weathered face, and she landed quietly next to a fox with crystal eyes and fur as white as snow. The fox was seated at the foot of the Mira statue in Jamaa Township, a wreath of flowers burrowed into the crook of her neck.

Eternal, her name is Eternal, Mira thought, for she knew each and every one of her children’s names. Their names were not to be forgotten.

The leaves chittered restlessly, as if they were a waiting audience.

“Dear Mira,” the fox began, and Mira, startled, reached an instinctive outstretched wing towards her child. Her wing only brushed through the fox, as if the heron was a ghost. Eternal did not seem to feel a thing, but yet she did give a little shiver, as if the winds had blown her way.

“How are things going?” Eternal asked. Mira, tilting her head to listen, allowed herself a perch on a thick, broad branch in a tree above them, listening to the fox’s gentle voice.

“There’s been lots of bad things going on lately,” Eternal continued, and Mira pained herself a sigh of disappointment. She would not dare shed a tear, for the phantoms were becoming worse by the moment. She could feel them pounding within her skull, scratching at the walls that kept them confined.

“There’s scammers, bullies, unkind people and unkind words. There’s people who don’t care about you or Father Zios or anyone, really.”

Mira bobbed a saddened nod at the fox’s words. Although she loved her children fully and tenderly, many did not love her back. The trees rustled around them as Eternal paused, and Mira watched her attentively, softly closing her golden eyes to listen to the winds that surrounded them.

“But I care,” Eternal said.

“I care about you, Mira. And even if everyone says you’re gone… I don’t believe it. I love you. We all do. And…we hope that you love us, too; that you’re watching over us and laughing at our silliness or beaming with pride at how we’re fighting the phantoms in our adventures. Because that’s what I hope. I hope you love us. I hope you love me.”

Mira’s heart radiated with love at the fox’s words. She landed lightly next to Eternal and peered into her glistening eyes.

“I will always love you,” Mira whispered, her voice soothingly melodic, and planted a ghostly kiss upon the fox’s cheek. Eternal, startled, glanced up at the proud, Mira statue that shadowed across her features. Mira lifted her gray wings, sending a burst of winds spiraling along the trees, the soft scent of roses shifting through the air. She watched carefully from above as the fox pawed away from the statue.

With one last glance behind her, Eternal smiled, her eyes bright and clear.

“I know you’re here,” Eternal said, and Mira smiled back.

*Note from the author: I chose to write this story because one day I was doing exactly what Eternal was doing. I literally sat at the foot of the Mira statue and talked to her. And then this story came to mind. Sometimes you find inspiration in the oddest of places...* :)

  5. Beautiful story! I love the words and adjectives used, it makes the story feel real and beautiful. I love writing very much and I hope that I can write a full good story soon.. (I have written many stories but crossed them out because they weren't good, I wish that I can write a full story without crossing it out sometime)

    1. Thank you! I love writing, as well. I know how you feel, it's always hard to think of a good story to write. I guess my only advice for you is to continue writing until you find a story that you like. There's going to be a lot of papers in the trash, I can tell you that, but in the end you won't regret it. Good luck!

  6. Hi Ethereal! May I know if it's alright if I make this story into a video? I will give you and your blog all the story credit on the video, and advertise your blog at the same time on the video. It's alright if you say no, I'm just asking.

    3. Sorry, I didn't have enough time to make the video these few days. I could possibly get it started tonight, but here are some things that I have to inform you about:

      1. The fox's name would be changed.
      2. The fox's look would be changed.

Hope you don't mind that :)

    4. Yeah, I understand! The end of the year is coming up, and fitting everything in is a serious time crunch.

Oh, and I'm fine with those name/look changes. :)

    6. :O I'm so sorry about the wolf! I forgot to mention it in my last comment up there. It's just that I couldn't get to meet my member friends when I had the time to do this video, and I decided to just replace the fox with a wolf of a non member friend of mine, whom I usually get to meet, as I was afraid that I wouldn't have time to do the video when my member friends were online. I'm very sorry about that, but I hope that you enjoyed the video! c:

  9. I am SO sorry that some of you had to read the terrible comments that that person wrote. It makes me so angry that I couldn't get rid of it earlier, but traveling was too exhausting for me. D:

And to whoever posted those comments: Hating with all of those inappropriate and disturbing comments is pretty disgusting. If you really want to hate on me, please post comments that could actually affect me instead of comments that are very obviously a troll. Thanks! :)
